Which dash trim do you prefer?

I am looking into getting some sort of trim for my interior. I have a 95 GLE with black leather interior. I can't decide between the carbon-fiber or the aluminum. I like the look of leiberman's max with the c-f. Link Here But I also think the aluminum looks good with dark interior.

What are your thought?

i think the aluminum dash would compliment the black leather interior nicely.

I have black leather interior, and I'm getting CF instead of aluminum... just need to decide which company to go with. IMO, aluminum is alright but gives no character to the dash, and also our center console is too "square" to have a slab of aluminum on there. The weaving of CF gives it a bit more character than aluminum, subtle. Just look at it this way... the best sports car in the world (Ferrari, Lotus, McLaren) all go with CF dash instead of aluminum.

True... but some Max owners don't see that with all 'em engine mods and sure don't drive like it's a sedan!

That came out nice. What did you use for paint? Also, I should be getting my CF kit from Joshua Tree any day now. I'll have to post some pics once I get it installed.

Real carbon-fiber. It may be old school, but it still looks good. Kinda like what Tifosi says, you see aluminium in a CL Type-S, you see carbon-fiber in an F40. That should tell you something. Aluminium looks nice, but a little too ricey IMO. Mind you I loved it at one point.

Re: Re: Which dash trim do you prefer?

But put it this way, what is a Maxima more closely related to, an Acura CL, or a Ferrari F40?

Plus Ferraris use aluminum on the interior, that is one of the things that inspired us to do the aluminum kits

http://www.all-ferrari.com/images/fe..._spider_04.jpg

And some of our most popular kits are for Porsche 911's and Acura NSX's. We've even done some work for Porsche dealerships at customer's requests so brushed aluminum is definitely not a rice thing or cheap.

Aluminum (IMO) looks a lot cleaner. Carbon Fiber makes me feel depressed -

carbon fiber looks alright but its kinda drab, and doesnt stand out that much. i have the aluminum dash kit on my car and love it! looks great and adds a great accent with the black leather

I've got black leather too and to be honest I think the dash looks best black. Very classy, clean look.

If my dash pieces were somehow scratched and OEM was not available, I gues I'd probably go with the aluminum. Something about carbon fiber really urks me. Almost as much as altezzas. Maybe it's just because some people go carbon-fiber crazy.

Agree. I like the Classy look of OEM, but if I were to change, it would be to Aluminum.

Yeah, I have black leather too, and like the look of just OEM black. Personally, I think the Aluminum looks a lot better on the 5th gens, there is more sharp corners, and more area to put in on the doors. I am still searching for that perfect kit

OH yeah, don't cut it out yourself, you'll be causing yourself more pain than its worth.
