sluggish under 3k rpms with SC?

I'm running the 3.125 pulley on the V1 SC. Boost doesn't come on around 3k rpms. When boost hits, the power is great. However, under 3k rpms, it seem to be a bit sluggish. Even when I was NA, it didn't feel as sluggish. Any ideas? Maybe that's how it is with the SC and the pulley I'm using? I'm also running the one step colder spark plugs.

Also, my exhaust system is sounding rather crappy now with the SC installed. I'm running the Apexi WS exhaust, WSP ypipe, and WSP test pipe. Comments?

I have the same problem but I am still running the default pulley. I just came to the conclusion that this is the evil 'parasitic lag' created by the S/C. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong of if this is just all in my head.

Well think about it, you are using crank power to spin a turbine in the intake stream. So say it takes about 15 hp to spin the turbine, and the turbine decreases efficiency of intake stream until intake goes from vaccuum to boost (critical point where the turbine goes from decreasing flow to increasing flow), and even then, has to generate 15hp just to balance out the loss. So when you think about it, you probably will be making less power down low in the rpm range. Just consider it a trade off for upper end power.

It's just a characteristics of a centrifugal supercharger... Though the power really shouldn't be less at 3K... the perceived loss in power there is psychological. Parasitic drag isn't that bad to offset the 4lbs of boost you should have at that rpm with your pulley.

If you drive the car normally with a supercharger will it have an affect on gas mileage or only when u floor it, it consumes much more gas?

My mileage is down aroun 18 mpg for the 7 months I've had the SC compared to about 20-21 prior to that. And I drive pretty much the same way. On the times where I drive really, really agressivley, I may only get 15 mpg from a tank.
