try to find some bulbs on ebay, but make sure u know about the bulbs. for example, the brightest white would come out of a bulb that has 5000k, most xenon bulbs now are like 3500k i believe, those are what mine are.....lately i've seen bulbs that produce 5000k,(which is 1000k less than actual HID bulbs) i'm not sure if its true, but ebay does get strict about a seller selling you a product that is advertised to do a certain thing....i got mine for around $15 including shipping off of ebay, the bulbs come with a 10 year warranty and all, igot like the xenon bulbs, i think the company is called plasma, i aint sure, but on the cover of the case there is a Honda S2000, i went the budget way because at the time i wanted brighter bulbs, i really didn't want to spend a whole amount of money on them, in your case, since your planning to change out your wires, try looking for more higher quality ones, mine come out brite white with some blue tint, i'm pleased with them.

dont waste your money on PIAA's.
if you want to be able to see well from inside your car, get philips bluevisions or sylvania silverstars (no wiring harness necessary).
if you want to give your car the HID look, while sacrificing some visibility, get Nokya or Naxos or any other type of hyperwhite bulb, but in this case the wiring harness is a good idea.

I have never heard of the headlight housing melting only the harness and wires can burn up....
