1) Coil wrap can be purchased at Lowes, Home Depot, or Radio Shack. Here is a link...
http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...Fid=910%2D5176

If that doesn't work, try searching for wire wrap on their site. I recommend the 3/4" width, but 1" is also acceptible.

2) what to wrap. Don't bother with the top and bottom coils; protect the 2nd/3rd coils in from smacking each other.

So, in other words, skip the top and bottom coils, and wrap the next 1 and a half to 2 coils. The reason for doing this is to isolate the coils enough to prevent a noise when the springs touch.

3) dust boots, bushings, and bearings. It's my recommendation to replace all these components when you change your suspension.

The bushings on the rear: there are 2 bushings. The front strut mount bearings are 2 pieces (1 per side) that should also be replaced. The dust boots should also be replaced, but I recommend when using KYB AGX to use the KYB boots.

Shop hose, as in for the air tools? That would be way too thick....

I've done a lot of suspension installs; those rear bushings are cheap so I would order them if I were you. I can get you part numbers if you need them.

www.cattman.com has the KYB dust boots. If you don't order these you have to cut the bump stops.

We've got 3 or more guys with sprints in our metroplex, none of us have ours wrapped and we don't have spring impact noises. It's not a big deal with these springs. For sure though, trim your bumpstops like sprint says. Too much trimming leads to rubbing. Not enough leads to how my car is... full stiff all the damn time.

Shop air hose is DEFINITELY TOO THICK. I agree on this. Anyone who has done a Max spring install will tell you this. If you insist on using compressed air hose, you'll have your suspension apart and be scrambling for an alternative, trust me. Go with the spiral wire-wrap.

Do some searching, btw - suspension is about the most beaten-to-death dead horse on this whole forum. There's loads of info., advice & how-to's on it.

Best of luck!
