How does the lower CAI pipe attatch to MAF on PR CAI setups?

How does the lower CAI pipe actually attatch to MAF on PR CAI setups?

Is the MAF adapter for a PR CAI specific to the CAI, or can a generic MAF filter adapter off of eBay work?

I have the CAI pipes and filter on the way, but no MAF adapter (I got them used). I think that I need to buy a MAF adapter for a PR CAI, but if I can use ANY MAF adapter, please let me know.

If anyone can advise me as to my options or sell me the MAF adapter, that would be great. I can get a MAF adapter from a PR dealer, but it will run me $35.

As long as the MAF adapter is 3" in diameter and bolts up to the MAF holes, then you should be fine with the ebay one. Otherwise, just spend the $35 and get the PR because you already know that one will fit.

I'd wait until you get the pieces. You might get the correct pieces already. I bought my CAI used and it came with the MAF adapter piece.

You can see here

Right after the MAF there is an adapter piece bolted to the sensor. And then there are two hose clamps with a small piece of rubber hose to attach the lower pipe

Great. Thanks for the pic, it REALLY helps to SEE what i was trying to figure out. I know I am just getting the pipes, b/c the guy has new chrome pipes and was selling his old ones.

i think either my piping is too short or the rubbers are too short cause its like everything is barely connected. Mine isn't a perfect set up like the one above. Unless i drilled hole in the wrong spot?

Mine was tight as well. I had to wrestle with it to make it fit. I think the hole could be placed a little better, but it’s already drilled at this point. The only real fitment issues I had were with the CV hoses not reaching. I had to bend the hell out of the upper hose. One of these days, I’m going to go out and get longer ones.

I’d go with the PR MAF adapter. It’s a guaranteed fit.

I had to get new ones to fit installing mine this weekend. I got them from Advance Auto Parts. You can get them cut to any length you want and they’re fairly inexpensive. Here’s my receipt. Might help anyone looking in the future.
