selecting tranny oil- does really it matter?

Hey,
should I bring my own tranny oil (given that particular make has its benefits, if so, which?) or should I just let the mechanic use whatever he has?
The car is mostly used for weekend transportation with no "hard driving".

thanks

If you really don't care much and the car isn't driven hard, any ATF should do, as long as it's changed frequently. If the car sees frequent short trips in the cold and you want to keep it for a long time use either Amsoil or Mobil 1 ATF.
