where to tap for gauge lighting and power?
I know the blue wire on the dimmer switch is one where you can splice into for the gauge to light up. Anywhere else? I got three gauges that I currently have tap into the dimmer switch wire. Too many I would think. My fuses keep going out. Also, where else besides the cig. lighter wire where I can tap for a 12v power? Again, I got a few wires tap into the same wire, not good I think. Anywhere else I can try?
for the illumination, i tapped into the bulb under the shift ****. Make sure you run both (+) and (-) off the light, or else you wont have the dimmer control from the dimmer switch.
For the power to the gauges, i went right off the main ignition harness with an inline fuse(15amp). If you want i'll e-mail you tommorow the color wire to look for under there

I think he's already over loading the dimmer switch circuit with over 3 gauges. I got the +12v light for my gauges off the headlight switch. I used a relay. They come on with the rest of the dash, but does not dim via the dimmer switch. I got the main +12V off the ignition switch. I used a relay on it too. By using relays, I can pretty much run as many gauges as I want without worrying about overloading OEM circuits.

Search with web for SPDT relay. You are basically using low amp power draw to turn on high amp power supply. It's like your nitrous solenoid relay. All your main +12 power supply to soleniods do not feed to the arm switch right? The arm switch provides the low amp power signal to the main relay. The relay clicks and turns on the +12V supply to the soleniods.

Could you explain in more detail what a relay does? I just bought a used automater full sweep FP gauge. (carbon fiber series). Does that come with a relay too? if not, where can I get one?
