How should I paint my tails?

How should I paint my tails?
I'm pretty sure I'm going to paint my tail lights. I'm not going to do clear/red (too much much effort and $$ for my 95).
Should I just smoke 'em, all red, or all red with smoke over that ( this could end up blocking too much light)?

Well since you have a darker colored car I think you should opt for smoked. Red would look better on a lighter colored car. And by tint, I hope you don't mean "blacking it out". Just a simple light tint to it, right? Because if you want the dark tint I can tell you right now that light will not shine through well. If I were you I would try that silver tint to make then look like red/white tails.

you're going to have to do a lot of smoking to block that disguisting amber turn signal.
i still would look for a deal on red/clears... look too good compared to the smoke jobs..
just my opinion
but it is worth a try man

Ben, did you paint the reverse light lense? I have the clear/red painted too. Not the best, but cheap and got the result. I'm thinking of doing all red, the clear/red look a bit plain now.

Just want a change. It's better than getting Altezzas right?
I don't know if it's legal to paint over the reverse light though. I have seen one or two Accords that have all red tails, look pretty good. I even compliment one Accord guy on that. He said he hated Altezzas too, thus why he went with all red tails. So far he said he haven't had a problem with cops. The reverse light still lights up white when it's in reverse, so no problem seeing it. That was on the Accord, not sure how it would look on a Maxima.

You mean Red-Out the whole upper portion?? Reverse lights too? If that's what you mean, consider that it is illegal if you don't have white/clear reverse lenses. That's the only thing that stopped me from coverin that part up.
