Another AGX Install Completed This Weekend
It's amazing how many suspensions I find that have been put together wrong by somebody else. This time the upper strut perches were both wrong on the front and one set of H&R's were upside down.
No wonder the car rode funny and made crazy noises.
I think the Stillen rear stabalizer bar is a waste of $$$. I definately don't like the design at all. It only hangs on the trailing arms and doesn't brace onto the beam like the Addco bar does. How does that stop body roll? It was also installed wrong on this car. It was so far forward it was hitting the floor boards on large bumps limiting the rear suspension travel. The guy that worked on this car prior really knew his stuff.
Well 2-1/2 hours of work later and the car rides tight and quiet again.
Keep your eyes on the org to see who's car it was I did today. I'm sure [hint]she'll[/hint] make a post soon regarding the install.

Re: hi Tom
Angie,
I haven't met you before...or saw your car in person, but I always admire that Pacific Blue Jaguar paint of yours.
Finding you got the springs installed incorrectly was a surprise!
Man, I am glad that Tom helped you out. He also made me realized that I installed the rear struts facing the other side (***** on AGX facing the disc brake.

..but hey! I believe everything else is installed correctly.
Tom, man...you are the MAN!

Thoughts on RSBs, Addco vs. Stillen
Despite my dislike for the Stillen, I believe it reduces body roll by twisting or increasing torsional stiffness in the rear to equalize lift of the wheels.
Tom, I used to have my RSB very far forward, trying to get as much oversteer as possible. That's why it hoppped and skipped over bumpy roads...it did so much "twisting" that the rear lifted up a lot.

Wait a sec.. Now that I think about it, the Addco bar doesn't grab the beam. It grabs the trailing arms in 2 locations. One at the end of the bar (forward) and the other right before the beam where the bar begins to bend and go along the beam. So basically they do sort of work with the same principal in mind.
OK - Makes sense to me now. I have to take a peak under my a$$ end to verify that Addco setup again.
Nismo: I put together a Ground Control groupdeal a while back for org guys, I didn't buy GC's though. I've always had H&R springs (like on my sig).
ardika: Thank you.
Mitch33x: Love 'em.
Tom's the man alright

I beleive him when he says he can do these installs in his sleep!
So when's the Y coming Tom?
Ange,
Have you figured out which settings you like best so far? I was doing 2/4 but brought it back down to 1/1, still messing with them after three months.

Erica - We did the install at my house. I just read a thread that Deezo got himself H&R's and AGX's. Shall we have another mini suspension meet?

Every now and then you come across a post regarding Budget with noise & fitment problems. Also I have an SE-L with Cali spec. emissions. Some have had a hard time getting the correct pipe for this particular model. Warpspeed spicifically calls out the pipe for my car.
I think it was the best choise.
