Is it true that the GFORCE ECU reduces fuel efficiency?

search is your friend. millions of posts on this topic. i don't have the ECU yet, but to my understanding it does not affect gas mileage unless you're always on the mad pedal. my question is, does the Gforce only work in open loop mode?

I have it. It doesn't reduce it. It might have made it a little better. It works just like the stock ECU except you have more power all around. The car is quicker to rev and has more torque off the line. I also noticed that now it'll hold gears a little longer than before.

I thought ur car is only in open loop as soon as it starts up because ur o2's still need to heat up and aren't relaying air/fuel info to ur PCM.. I don't really understand the intricates for open-loop though..

I don't think it holds gears any longer. I'm not sure if i am understanding that statement, if you are referring to it as bumping the rev limiter up, not this ECU, that's the JWT.

Not the rev limiter. Ther car tends to stay in any given gear longer. For instance, if you were in traffic at a slow crawl, instead of the car going into overdrive everytime you take you foot off the gas and downshifting everytime you hit the gas, it'll just hold third gear. Second gear doesn't wind out as fast passed 6000rpm. It holds it until about 64-6500 before it shifts. There is no lag after 100 like most autos making my car top out at 133 in third gear (rev limiter is 6850 in my car). My rev limiter was not bumped up as far as I can tell.

:o)

It won't reduce fuel economy but it will be the worse $500 you ever spend.

the way the ECU works is that it remaps the fuel to air ratio. basically we lean out the car more than stock mapping so that your car actually burns LESS fuel. so if you drive normally it actually saves you gas.

and no. its not $500
its only $380 with the group deal.

I had one before the SC. I did 8 runs with, 8 runs stock back to back, same night. It averaged a 0.07 second better 1/4 mile. I paid $500 because I didn't want to send my stock ECU in. Before I bought I was told they had an SC program because I told them I was considering one. Now, I have a $500 ECU sitting in my garage and an outbox full of unanswered e-mails to G-Force about the SC program.

So let me get this straight: you have a GFORCE ECU which you bought for 500 (allegedly programmed for SC), and you've had problems with it?

No and no.

I bought it for my N/A Max. But I told Robert I was possibly thinking about an SC in the future. The regular program can NOT be used on an SCed car. He said 'Don't worry, we have an SC program and all you need to do is send it in for reprogramming'. Then I got the SC and said 'Robert, I'm ready'. He said 'Well, the program is still under developement'. He has been saying (when he does return my e-mails) that since January. There sits my $500 ECU in the garage.

And no, I never had problems with it.
