Changing tires: 245/30/18 or 245/40/18?
Changing tires: 245/30/18 or 245/40/18?
It’s time for me to get new tires all around. I’m currently running 235/40/ZR18’s on 18X8 rims. I’m looking to get a meatier tire on my rims and was thinking perhaps a 245/30/18 or 245/40/18. Is anybody currently running a larger width tire with an 18X8 rim? If so, do you have pics and how does it ride?
I appreciate any response.

Stick
Stick with 245/35/ZR18s. As far as I know you wanna' keep the same diameter as your original tires if at all possible. This size should work the best for you. I work at a tire shop and they are sick tries! Good luck man.

NO not 245/35 18...
Get 245/40 18 on 18x8. Click on to my homepage for pics. This size has the right meat on the car.
I tried 35 series and scrapes up/bent/ my old rims.
There is not enough rubber/sidewall in ratio to the weight.
245/40 18, 18x8 40mm offset, car is lowered...NO rubbing at all...event at full turns locked.
The ride is now fat/thick. I hug the road like velcro.
Believe only those who have had this size...ask JAY25 he also uses this size. I swear do not make the mistake of buying the 35 height.
