Please help with ?'s regarding my underbody

Tonight I had the unfortunate(sp) luck of going to pick up my cousin from soft ball practice. Heres the prob, my car is lowered with GC's and its lowered 2.0 in the rear and 2.5 in the front, the street that had no other way around it besides going four wheeling was to go over these huge as s speed bumps. It was all good the first time around but then what must go in must come out, so on my way out I grind really bad on one of the many bumps and Ihear something tear off from underneath my car. I proceed to pull in a poorly lit area and look under my car, I dont see a darn thing, then I look inside my wheel well only to find this huge piece of plastic wedged between my tire and the fender well. It came from all that useless plastic in the front of the car. So in conclusion I took all of the plastic stuff off, and was curious how effective or how bad do I need these back and what purpose do they serve, cause just about every 4th gen max I see has this garbage hanging low in the front and was curious how important it is. Please lemme know, you guys have never let me down.

Thanks
Brandon

i took mine off for the same reason then put them back on when i put my tranny cooler on it protects the lines i used. I belive it is just for some added security, and to keep the undercarrige clean and parts protected. Brian

That plastic underbody is mainly there to protect your under-carriage (ie. your tranny, engine, radiator, etc.) from rocks and debris. If you took it off, you should be ok. Nothing big will happen from this. I had to take some off for the tranny swap and never felt like installing some of it back in. Oh well...
