Exhaust wiggle

When I was washing my car I noticed these scuff marks on my exhaust where I think its coming into contact with the factory ground effects (You know, the half circle in the rear bumper.) I've also been hearing a rattle when I go over serious bumps. My gf also said that she can see it moving side-to-side when she's following me. Now that I've identified the problem, how do I fix it. It is hung on the factory hangers and the two bolts are tight with no leakage. Anybody else had this problem?

Maybe stick two thin dense rubber pads to the inside edge 1/2-circle cutout. It's got to be thin enough that it's not in constant contact with the exhaust tip which gets really hot. How much space do you have between the inside-edge & your muffler tip?

Well, the exhaust is supposed to wiggle (that's why it's on rubber hangers). But, after I installed my GReddy SP, I noticed that it wasn't centered in the cutout in the bumber. Solution (it'll sound alittle ghetto but), took a huge pair of pliers and bent the back two hangers on the muffler untill it looked right to me. Hope this'll help ya.

I had the same thing occur after installing my Stillen Exhaust. The fix is to install a universal hanger right at the last curve of the B pipe.

Email or PM me as it is hard to describe without a picture.

If you look under your car, you will be able to see where it is rattling as it is striking the cross member of the car after the flex of the Y pipe.

The B pipe is actually what is causing a noise and movement. It really is not the muffler.

Thanks

All of these seem to be very good ideas. I'm probably just going to do all of them on Saturday. As always, the input is greatly appreciated. Dlicari, I would e-mail you, but I probably wouldn't know what I'm talking about until I get under the car and look. I think I know what you mean though. I'll get at ya if I have any problems.
