Variable intake is going on tomorrow

We are installing my VI in the morning, I can't wait. I think I have everything ready to go. I already installed the rpm switch and relay a few weeks ago, just to have it done early. The new manifold looks good, Thanks Mr. Cranman. I will let you guys know how it goes, and more importantly how it feels. I plan to go to the local 1/8th mile track next weekend to get some new numbers, but I can't wait to go to the 1/4 track when I get time and see if I can get this automagic further into the 14's.

To install the collector with just regular tools it takes roughly 3-4 hours...and that is taking it slow...and then the wiring takes about 30 minutes maybe. But, once you've done it once you can get everything installed in about 2.5 hours. Just my thoughts. If you had air tools it would be even faster (wish I had some)

I don't see a reason to actuall take it to a shop...it is pretty straight forward to taking the collector off and putting the VIM on. And once it is on you can still drive your car around without the VIM working so if you get stuck with the wiring and vacuum tubing you won't have any down time on the car...and you can just ask us for help . I would definetly give it a whirl myself just to save the money on not having a shop charge you like 100-250 in labor. Just my thoughts
