okay, i thought our tank was 18.5 gallons.... however, when the light came on, i was like, okay, i still got a while to go. well it ends up i ran out of gas, car would start, then stall. so i put in a gallon from a nearby gas station and then i went to go fill it up w/ shell and it filled up 15.8 gallons. this doens't add up to me. 15.8 gallons plus the gallon i added is not even 17 gallons. If our tank capacity was 18.5 gallons, i shoulda still had at least another gallon rite? somebody please explain why this doens't make sense to me.

 

the tanks is 18.5 gallons. the light should come on with just about 2 gallons left. were you on a hill or something when the car stalled? or maybe it was just a coincidence of some sort. the tank definitely is 18.5 gallons.

 

ya, that makes sense... the light did come on w/ about 2 gallons left. i wasn't rilly on a hilll... but sort of a slight incline. it wuz very slight. i was too scared to try and keep startin the car over and over again, but would there have been a way to start it and get it goin because i kno i had enough gas to get to the gas station.

 

the "pick-up" for the fuel is in the front of the tank. I have squeezed in 19 to 19.2 or .3 gallons b4.
