Cold Air Intake

i have a 95 maxima, im looking to buy a cold air intake, what is the best brands that arent gonna run up my budget. what does it do to my car and my biggest worry is the air controller that is on the intake what do i do with that when i get an intake? what happens if i have a cold air intake and it rains. all problems that have prevented me from buying an intake to this day. if i can get a little help that would be really nice.

I hate to be the one to say this, but

SEARCH.

Posts with my name are a good start, but search for "water" AND "CAI" It should come up with a lot of hits. General intake Qs have been covered a ton lately. Search w/in the last 6 months...

Best CAI

In my opinion, I would go with a PR (Cattman) CAI. I put a Cattman in a couple of weeks ago and love it. Some claim that they lose a lot of power at the high-end of the power band, but I really havent noticed. I love mine, as it gives off a nice growl when reving and at around 2-2.5k rpm. my car still pulls pretty hard even at higher rpm's too.
A lot of people are going to the hybrid (just the midpipe and filter attached to the MAF sensor) because it cuts down on the distance of travel for the air. But you are still getting the hot air from under the hood. Me personally, I would rather have the cold air coming from the outside.
I would go the the PR (Cattman). Good performance and sound. My brother has a hybrid on his '96 5spd max and i have the CAI on my '97 5spd max and I take him out every time.
Hope this helps.

If you are ok with cutting a hole in your fender wall then PR CAI is ok. But if you don't want to do that, then go with Injen CAI.

I had a Stillen intake before, and I like my Injen a whole lot better.
