Just had the Maximum Tuning VB MOD installed!

Dropped my car off on 5:30 pm Friday and picked it up on 10am Saturday from Jeff at Maximum Tuning. I had the Maximum Tuning VB Mod (street race version), Solenoids changed, and a transmission cooler installed.

In short my experience was fantastic and the results can be described as “astounding”. The car switches gears almost instantly. From first gear to second gear is a minor jerk and after a while is unnoticeable but from 2-3 you can feel damn well the car instantly switch and the RPMS drop from 6 to 4 and climb all the way back in mere seconds. Those with automatics like me can now have the advantage over the manuals since we can be in gear way before the other driver releases the clutch. It’s been heavy traffic today so I have not been able to test it from 3rd to 4th gear but I’m extremely satisfied with this mod. I was even told it will cut my 1/4th time as much as half second if not more. The modification will also prolong the life of your transmission. I recommend anyone considering it to get it done from Jeff at Maxmimum Tuning, I for one refuse to drive another maxima that doesn’t have this mod!

Where is Maxximum Tuning located? How much does the mod cost? What are the other options for the VB mod...

Thanks,

I'm not sure whats involved in the actual valve body modification. You are going to have to ask Jeff on that. I know I had the solenoids replaced because my transmission has over 100k miles and it was recommended.

Wow! That sounds like a great mod for us automatics. Congrats, I'd love to see your car, maybe if I make one of the NY meets. (I go to school in Hyde Park). How long did this take? How much did this cost total? If you don't want to say in the thread, you can email me at DR73874@mycia.net.
Thanks,
Dan

This mod is nothing new. Just a new shop doing it. And it's been shown by several people that the mod does not cut 1/4 time. It does prolong the life of the tranny though. A lot of people on the .org have this mod, just done by another shop.
