Was parked for 10 months

I had my car parked for over 10 months.
I am about to get it back on the road.
Any special precaution before I start it? What should I do (besides washing it) for the engine, what should I be worried about?
Thanks for all your suggestions.

Franck.

Did you prep your car before you stored your car? If not, some things that may need to be checked:
dead battery
may want to flush coolant, you may have corrosion there
may want to do an oil change for good measure
gas probably has some condensation (water) in it...may want to drain gas tank

I haven't had the chance to prep the car beyond having a full tank. I had to go away because of what happened here at home...
It was precipitated so as you've guessed, the battery is dead.
Should I drain the gas tank before starting it? Get a new battery?
Thanx guys.

If you have a full tank of gas, you might not need to drain it empty. since water is heavier than gas, if you pull the drain plug, the water should come out first since it's at the bottom. also i think there are a few products that you may add to your tank to addract the water. if you find one of these, you actually may not need to drain your tank. just make sure you drain tank and/or use a water attractor before starting your car. don't know what water does to injectors, but i bet it's not good.
as far as the battery, try giving it a charge first. if you know where you bought it from, they usually will charge and test it for free. I know Sears here does that.
good luck.

Don't worry about your cooling system, the chemical properties don't change while your car sits for 10 months.

Check your oil, just make sure there's no moisture in it. If it looks good, start it, but change the oil soon.

You filled up your tank with gas so moisture isn't an issue. Moisture or condensation will form on the gas tank walls. If your tank was full, there's no place for the moisture to form. Don't worry about your gas.

Charge the battery if it's dead, check the oil level and crank it up!

If you were stored outside, your brakes and rotors may have a considerable about of rust. Just go easy until it all comes off. Check your tire pressure too, they lose air when they sit.
