bulb poped and broke in pieces

tonight i was driving home from work and noticed that my passangerside headlight bulb went out. i thought socket was lose so i got home and poped the hood and checked it out. and i saw that bulb was poped and broke in pieces, now those broken pieces are inside of headlight assembly. how do i clean them? or is it possible? i had nokya artic white with wire harness upgrade. and what other brands out there has bright white? nokya was too bluish i think.

thanks,
Tae

There was a thread earlier today talkin about cleaning the inside of the headlight. I believe you have two options... removing the headlight peice and shaking out the peices (which IMO is your best option) or puttin it in the oven and removing the headlight unit apart to clean it out thoroughly... but then i don't know if the broken peices inside are gonna cause any more damage in the oven. Just shake em out.

Three choices here:

1) heatup and remove the lense to the headlight assembly and carefully clean out the debris

2) fill up headlight with water(obviously off the car) and rinse out the particles. Then air dry with heat gun or air gun the remaining water out of the lense.

3) buy a new lense

i got lucky when i drilled the holes for my strobe kit on my corner lenses and blinker lenses, cause all i had to do was use my air gun and blow out the particles and not have to use water or take them apart.

goodluck!

why would he do any of those? can't he just shake out the pieces like nadir_s said. not to seem like a jerk, it just doesn't seem like he'd need to do all that when he could shake the glass out. i gotta do the same thing cuz my nokya bulb shattered the other day.

F*ck, my Nokya bulb poped on me as well a year ago or so. What I did was took out the light and rinsed it with water and some soap. I let it sit for couple hours and it was brand new again. I think that's your best bet, and switching 2 HID's as well.

Is this just a Nokya bulb thing?

I've had two sets of 'xenon' bulbs in my car over the years and never had one completely shatter.

probably....i noticed there were hot spots on mine recently...they weren't from me touching them cuz i'm not that dumb, but ah well...had them for about 8 months and they looked good, were also really cheap so no big deal i suppose. it is weird though going from those blue ones to phillips blue visions because they are just white. i feel that i won't be getting as much attention from the police now which i like.

once the bulb breaks inside, the head light is scratched. Go after the person who sold you the bulbs and make them buy you a new one . That's your best bet. no matter what ur headlight is still damaged.
