Jay25 is cutting my springs sometimes soon to drop the max, but I was planning on getting a stage 2 SFC from warpspeed in teh future, I have 18" rims with 245/40/18 tires, any clearance problems?

 

Yes, they will decrease ground clearance in the center of your car 1.5"-2.0". I know, I wanted them really badly too.

really, so I can't have the setup? What would you, leave the drop of the eibachs and get the stage 2 or just drop the max for looks?

You can have both. I'm down 2.5" all around on GCs and I have smaller tires which sit me another .5" closer to the gournd. I scrape them every once in a while when I go over a steep incline on an angle, or a REALLY tall speed bump. BUT, you will scrape the FRONT of your max and your mudflaps if you have them far more than you scrape the SFCs, I can guarantee that, and they are made of steel, they can take the scrapes just fine.

The scraping is nothing to worry about, maybe once a week, unless you have an area you go into very often which has a specific bump, driveway, or whatever that is really brutal.

 

Would having the SFC's on help in this respect, almost like a skid plate? e.g. instead of scraping your (insert low-hanging expensive part) you just scrape up you SFCs

 

If my front lip will clear, my SFC will too. My front lip sits about 1" lower than the SFC. People shouldn't really worry about ground clearance unless you have coilovers. FYI, I have sprint springs ~2" drop.

 

I was thinking the same thing, with my Warpspeed B-pipe the rear oxogen sensor is currently the lowest point under my car . I will probably be getting SFCs soon.

 

On the rare occasion that I do scrape something underneath my car, its either the front crossmember or the SFCs, both of which are strong steel pieces and can take it. They do act as a sort of skid plate and will prevent you from ripping your exhaust off if you were to hit something just right.

 

Just to add..I use my SFC as jacking points now. I can jack up one side of car much easier now. My jack saddle has this thick rubber padding so it doesn't hurt the finish at all.

 

I have Intrax springs and almost never scrape my stage 2 SFCs. I have scraped them a couple times, but it really takes a big bump.

 

thanks for the info guys, I will be doing this setup, cut eibach's with SFC's stage 2. just wondering would I have to get an alignment after the install of the SFC's?
