38342-81X01 and 38342-81X00 are the part numbers I do not know which is which. Anyway theres a possibility you did not install the seals correctly so thats why it is gushing out. Did you snug the seals flush with the case of did you drive them in so far that they actually spin and move around? You want to snug them up flush thats all.

75W-90 will work fine, just make sure it's a GL4, which is hard to find.

GL4 and GL5 are the specs which identify the level of extreme pressure additives that are added to a gear oil. Nissans use GL4 fluids. Most of what is commonly available is GL5, which is more used in differentials. The danger about using a GL5 lube in a GL4 tranny is that the GL5 tends to eat away at the softer metals in the transission, usually synchros. The GL5's are very corrosive. It's almost impossible to find a petroleum GL4. Some of the synthetics have dual ratings which are safe to use in a GL4 tranny because they are formulated with buffers tp revent corrosion.

I don't know. Each Autozone seems to carry different stuff. You're best bet at finding a petroleum GL4 is probably through the dealer, though even some of them don't bother. Otherwise, the only 2 gear oils I know of that work are Amsoil and Redline.
