Idea about collector for force inducted cars.

I was talking to another .org member and this came to mind. I don't have a force inducted car...but that isn't part of the point. I know TILLEY99 had put a VQ30DET motor in his car or basically the whole motor. And if you look at his intake manifold collector it is a short collector...basically doesn't have the long runners that cover the headers. Anyway I figure, Nissan knows what they are doing and probably did this because it provides better gains (or just did it because they needed this to fit under the hood). You can check out the picture of what it looks like here http://www.unm.edu/~garbear/Pictures...manifold2.BMP. I searched but didn't see anybody mention this. I know it is probalby a costly experiment...but maybe if someone was near TILLEY99 that has a force inducted car you could do a dyno pull with the orginal manifold and then do a pull with the VQ30DET manifold...of course this would have to have the down time to pull off one and put the other on. But then you could at least see if this would be a mod that is worth while. I know it bolts directly onto the intake manifold. The only thing that I'm not to sure of.

1. Is there a different TB (just looking at the gasket)
2. Is the IAC still able to bolt up to the VQ30DET collector, because it looks like the IAC bolts to the front of the collector. In the diagram
3. If you need a new IAC will on the hoses connect up correctly or how hard would it be to fabricate a connection.

Those are the only questions really that I'm not sure about. I'm going to do a little more research and find out what the part number for the TB and IAC are for the VQ30DET...but I just thought you guys might be interested in this. If this has been covered before I'm sorry I missed it. And possibly if it is a bigger TB used on the VQ30DET maybe it is something we can bring and put on our max. Just thinking of ways people can up there HP...after you have almost everything done. Please tell me your thoughts.

Hogan aka Yo Its Ok is ala banned from maxima.org, but I know he ran the VQ30DET manifold and possibly has dyno pulls on this. He resides now on maximaforum.com.

Tilleys99 aka Rob might also have the dyno runs, it would be nice to compare his results with turbo97se aka Nigel. Both are 5spd turbo, I think their exhaust manifolds are different though, so there might be a slight +/- in the performance. But I'd very much like to see a before and after.

All I know is that the current collector on our cars suck for forced induction vehicles. Basically, we're only talking guys with turbo, right?

Well, yeah but like getting flamed has ever stopped you

But, this was just a thought I had for boosted cars. Because with a boosted car you don't need the long runners for the TQ or so I assume. This just helps cut the distance of the air to the intake manifold. I was thinking if someone was bored that this might be a good addition, might be produce more HP. Just my thoughts
