My friend has an accord and he said that it didn't make much of a difference in the turns...though it could have been because he was already lowered I think..

I was thinking about my next mod and was just doing a little research.

 

I think it's the best handling mod for the money. FSTBs are inexpensive and you will notice the improved cornering immediately.

agreed...i noticed a big difference. steering is tighter, and the car grips the road better. its worth the $35 to get one.

 

i agree, it's worth the $30, you feel a little difference...it does tighten the turns...

i just got one off of ebay from DIRECT CAR PARTS .. check those out.. it came out to $29 with shipping ...

give them a look.. and use the BUY NOW feature, that is what i did.. no point in waiting and bidding.. (my opinion )

if someone put one on your car without you knowing, you probably wouldn't even notice something was different.
but it adds a mod to your car and gives you something to do on the weekend...also looks nice in the engine bay.

if you're looking for better handling, get a rear sway bar.

 

...if somone put a FSTB on your car and you didn't notice, you must drive your car like it's a '68 Cadillac.

And to get the maximum handling benefits of a RSB, you need a FSTB.

It is a great FSTB, slight decrease in body roll when accelerating through curves, and a cheap mod $30.00 (18 plus 12 shipping) Good looking bar, now all i need is a RSB to complete it.

 

i dont really notice a difference... i guess when you have everything done suspension wise it does its part because you will be banging turns harder, and like everyone else said its an inexpensive mod.. just dont go paying $180 for a stillen one that does the same job

 

It does make a difference. Proof:

I bought my max from my Uncle who bought it brand new and sold it to me in at the beginning of 02. I was visiting him in Charolotte (he just moved there from Louisville). Him and his sons (one my age, one 12) decided to go out to dinner. Since my car was out front we decided to take it, and I offered to let him drive for old times sake. He sat down and the first thing he said was "This steering wheel is tighter what did you do to it?" I reminded him about the strut bar I showed him. My story.

It's absolutely worth it without question. I did the FSTB and RSB...the improvement in stability and handling is awesome....Maxi is solidly planted with these two mods.

it's worth the cash, either get the $30 one or the stillen one. no use getting the $75 courtesy fstb when one off ebay is the same quality for half the cashage. btw, the stillen, IMHO, functions better than the other ones (i have owned both and would recommend the stillen one anyday) it's expensive though, and only worth the money if you're really **** about some parts in your car like me

 

Well, by itself FSTB does not add any significant gain...

But coupled with Rear Sway Bar, ya, they do awesome job controlling you in your seat and not making you flying all over inside the car.

Ebay FSTB is good, I have one myself.

And besides, it's only $25-30, what a mod to begin with!!!

And consider, all expensive cars, like Acura Legend, comes with FSTB and RSB stock...and even 10yr old 300ZX.

So you should really get these. It's a must.

i've heard those ebay jobies are a shot in the dark.. sometimes they either bent, scratched, or stripped bolts.. that's what i've heard.

 

I got mine off ebay and I guess to avoid that problem that your talking about is to buy it from good rated seller, or from a reputable shop that auctioning stuff off.

 

actually....I'd have to say the RSB is probably the best handling mod
for the money (if you stay away from Stillen that is)

but the FSTB is cheap and it's worth it.

if you think the fstb made a big difference in handling...i dunno...maybe low standards...cause my maxima still handles like a boat.
and i probably drive a lot more aggressively than you do...
my dads grand prix with no mods and more weight, easily outhandles the maxima with the fstb.
since is cheap...i don't care...i do hear that it complements the rsb well...but since i don't have htat...it doesn't do diddly

 

To me, the FTSB makes steering crisper and quicker. By itself, it doesn't change handling like part of the suspension (RSB) does, but it gives a much quicker and more precise response when you turn the wheel, especially to dodge potholes or hit a corner hard.

 

You won't notice a thing but since it's so affordable do it anyway.
