ecu help

my cel came on yesterday, so i searched the site and found the instructions on how to pull the codes. i went under the dash and went to turn whatever it is to get the code and it looked like nothing was there to turn. the seal had already been broken and i couldn't figure out what need to be turned to get the codes! cansomeone help me out!

you just need a flat head screw driver to fit in there. real easy. get a flash light since it's hard to see. turn clockwise till it stops then counter till it stops.

You have a 99 SE-L - They share the same ECU as some 5th gens.

You can't get the codes yourself. You need to have a ODBII scan tool.

Sorry...that's not true. All you need instead of a flathead screwdriver is a smaller phillips screwdriver...like the type you would use on glasses. **read**VERY SMALL**read**

You do need a very small phillips head screw driver. It is very difficult to see. The screw that needs to be turned is toward the bottom of the hole. I think the screw head was white. I hope that makes sense. Good luck.
