Questions for anyone running NX EFI 6cyl Direct-port nitrous kit

I have a few questions before installing in a few weeks. I did a lot of searching but only found info related to the NOS wet kits and the NX single port kit. So i am looking for help. thanks in advance:-)

1. How far towards the front of the upper intake manifold did you tap in for the piranah nozzles? meaning, if I place my finger on the upper inake manifold front bolts, how far up the manifold piping, towards the firewall would I travel until i hit where you tapped in?

2. Were the NX charts showing what jets to use accurate enough for you to have minimal tuning to do? Did you still do a nitrous run and sopt immediatly to check the plugs? What guages did you sue to monitor the sytem? Usual EGT, Air/Fuel? What knd of numbers did you see what shots?

3. how big of a shot were you able to run before you had to go to a larger fuel pump, and in turn a higher psi adjustable fuel pressure regulator to control the higher flowing pump?

4. Where did you mount your solenoids, distro blocks/Y-s?

5. Did you use the WOT setup to trigger, or did you wire something of you own? if so, what did you wire.

6. Anyone know if the NOS remote bottle opener will work on a NX bottle?

More to come, but I humbly request the right to ask many more later:-)

I think you are the first NX direct port. I can answer some of the questions. The rest you would have to ask NX tech support.

1. Tap your holes in the intake manifold where the hardware will not intefer with other parts. 1" - 2" away from the end of upper intake manifold would be good.

2. Isn't the NX direct port kit starts out at minimal of 100 shot?? That's the only reason I went with NOS because I wasn't comfortable starting out that high.

3. You don't need high pressure fuel pump thus eliminate the need for a FPR. Wet kit works with OEM fuel pressure. You need a flow
flow fuel pump ie. Walbro 190LPH which will support up to ~450hp @ ~43psi.

4. Mount your solenoids where you can get to them easily later on. Chances are you might need to replace/rebuild them down the road. Mostly popular place is near the strut tower. I have mine down lower by the fender.

5. It's either mechanical WOT switch or a button. NX just came out with a eletrical TPS WOT switch, but it's a bit pricey ~$100.

6. Yes...but why not just get the NX version? I know it's more expensive...

1. Thank you:-)
2. Starts out at 60, so I thought that would be safe enough (hopefully right)
3. I have the Walboro 255, will that be OK or not? i realize that it will cause me to run rich without an aftermarket fpr, but I was going to grab one of those also. i just wanted to get the JEN-USA fpr line adapter for a direct fit of the after market fpr, rather than run it inline
4. Thank you
5. thank you, i figure once I get their instructions with the wiring diagrams, i can play around with this one more
6. I got a NOS one free, so i should be OK with it right? i too like the NX one better, but I thought I would try the free one first

Thanks for taking the time man. When i get the ball rolling I will snappy snappy like crazy and try and come up with some sort of write-up. more too come. later:-)

i don't know what type of Direct port he was using, but look up SX7R. he'll give you a ton of info. or ask SprintMax, he's a smart *** guy.

I would sell the Walbro 255lph HP and pick up the Walbro 190lph. It's not worth the trouble messing with FPR on a wet kit. That's the beauty of a wet kit, you take fuel pressure out of the equation. Other people that were running direct port had tons of problem with the Walbro 255lph HP. I'm just trying to save you some headaches.

That is absolutely correct. I have the 255 walbro still in and when the bottle is full, I have to run the FPR way down to 25 psi to run remotely close to right. The 190 walbro is probably a better bet for a DPI system.
