I've Chosen my Future Exhaust Setup-PLEASE READ

I plan on a new exhaust setup, to be done within a few monthes. So far this is my plan: Cattman Y pipe to CustomMAX race pipe, to Cattman B pipe. I plan on keeping the stock muffler becuase I dont want the car to be TOO loud. I am still deciding on intakes, but I will probobly just go with the jim wolf or weapon r.

What do you guys think? Have any suggestions? How loud do you think this will be? Anything I have mentioned that you have had bad experiences with?
I have been saving money so I can do this all at once, I think it will also be easier to install.

Thanks,
Dan

I'm not an expert or anything, but I have a Warpspeed y-pipe...carsound cat with the stock B-pipe and factory muffler. I think because of having more than stock CFM's flowing through the muffler it might be more than it can handle and my muffler is starting to go. I might have to get an aftermarket muffler but I don't want one too loud. Just a thought.

Just put on a 5th gen muffler and you're set It'll still be quiet but still perform better than the stock 4th gen muffler.

Will I have to do alot of cutting or bending to get the 5th gen muff to fit on my 98?

You've been FAQed

Can I put a 5th gen muffler on my 4th gen?
Yes, you can. But it yeilds no extra hp. 1 if you are lucky.

Anyways, the hangers and the shape are the same, but some welding will be required. Nothing any muffler shop can't handle.

A member I met saturday, Bejay1(brian) got 9hp from his 5th gen. He dynoed twice before, installed 5th gen muffler, dynoed twice after. I could not believe it. This is not the type of guy to lie.

Not many people have the weapon r intake. If you want the best intake, get something with the Apexi filter on it. I'd say get the frankencar with the apexi filter. The only drawback from that is the price If price is really not a factor, get the Injen intake and swap the filter to an Apexi. I can't help you much on the exhaust because i don't know much about them. If you are thinking of getting a bpipe, IMO, why not just get a whole cat-back from apexi or greddy, I THINK that is more worth it.

Without a Cat??? Isn't that highly illegal and most importantly very bad for the environment?

If you do the setup like you said, as long as you keep some kind of OEM muffler (4th gen, 5th gen), you'll be fine, it'll sound good. I have Stillen everything and RT cat, I had to put a resonator on my b-pipe now it's music to my ears!

As for intake, don't get Weapon R, their filter is ****, if you get a JWT pop charger (beware of the low end loss), and you'll want some kind of midpipe to cure that problem, so by the time with a JWT $110 + midpipe $60, you are close to the price of an Injen CAI $205, that was the main reason why I went from Stillen pop charger to Injen.....cost.
