Thoes lights are hot, it seems like a ***** putting them in the lights like you did..

I would probly hid them in the engion bay , so when chillen i can pop the hood and it would be all light, to show off the motor in dark areas

I think that this came out really well. The LED's are brighter in real life and shed an "erie blue glow..." The pic is bad, there are not the black blotchy patches in person, just a solid blue glow...

Im sure every one will say it is "gay" or "ghey" but i like it alot.

It looks good, I understand about the blotches when in pictures...I did mine several months ago, and it looks perfect in person. Mine is actually activated with my alarm remote.

OKAY! So let's no turn this into a West vs East coast thing. I'm here in Cali and we are all here to show off and talk about our MAX on the org.
I seen these LED on sale too from EBAY for $16...think they were call blue lunar accents or something. This mod wouldn’t be too hard with the drilling of holes and stuff all that really of concern is making sure that moisture doesn't get into lights. This can be taken care of by feeding the wires through a rubber stop or sealing it off with silicon. I was thinking about doing it also, but I’m glad someone else did it B4 me so that I can learn from their experiences.
SO, on_alert why not share the knowledge and do a write up on it!?! OF course the sooner the better...and no the lights are not gay.

For writing up instructions, it good to do it in MS WORD to help with the grammer and stuff. At least this way you have auto save and you wouldn't have lost the entire thing. Thanks for trying, though...I think that we will all be here waiting until you post it up.

that is totally hot!

as for doing this... doesn't seem terribly hard to do. Maybe i'm wrong?

my instructions would be:

get a bunch of these types of leds:
http://www.eled.com/product.asp?cata...duct_id=E53MBC

preferably higher lumens. these are only 80mCd's... but are a nice blue wavelength.

drill tiny 5mm holes and place leds in each hole and glue emm in.
wire them all together, where you only end up with 2 wires to work with and not a million...

The tricky part is probably getting the wires into the cabin part. But once there, you can attach it to any power source, along with a resistor.

what did you attach it to for power? resistor used? how mCd's of the leds used?

very cool mod.

i will slowly provide infomation...

the ultra abriged version...oooohhhh pics
this is crude and written quickly, so they ar not that precise.

here are the led's i used:
led's

i didnt drill 5mm holes.
i drilled two 1/16" holes and fed the led from the inside out.
i wired them in parallel
they all feed off a 5 volt voltage regulator, with a 25ohm, 3 watt rheostat in series, adjusted so the voltage drop across the led is 3.5 volts

i used a hole punch to punch a circular piece of rubber to insulate the base of the led, and used heat shrink tubing to insulate the leads

i used sockets and bulb bases from miniature christmas lights to connect to the lenses, so i didnt have to deal with wires being permanently attatched to the lenses

i sealed the hell out of every hole (inside and out) with clear silicone

the leads for the switch go through the fire wall just to the passenger side of the throttle cable.

i used a 7 amp fuse, but you can go way lower (I=V/R)

to get the leds in the headlights, drill the holes (i put 2 in the headlights) and feed thin wires from the holes you drilled out through where the headlight bulb goes. solder the led to these leads and pull them backinto the lense, they will then be inside.

have someone hold the headlights and drill into them upside down. it is a huge pain in the *** to clean out the shavings

the foglights and my diamond cut blinkers had meatal shields/reflectors in them that i had to drill through.

try to point the led back into the reflective material... hard to do for the fogs.

post questions as you see fit!!!
i like to answer them...

here is a really crude sketch of the whole process... (really crude)

i cannot draw.

If ya use 12Volt LEDs, then it is just direct connecting...

hmm... can you take a pic with your regular lights on... along with the blue leds?

I'm curious what type of blue it might give off, if any

It gives off a VERY slight blue tint, with regular/super white bulbs. Nothing with HIDs
