You said approximate, so I will give you approximate. High teens. Maybe 18 for a 5-speed, close to 20 for an auto.

When we had our 69 Chevelle SS396 it would fly past 100mph after you got going. Of course, theres no replacement for displacement!
So Neal, what are your 0-60 times?

Why would you say that? If stock max's run 15.2ish for an auto and 14.9ish for a manual, then a 0-100mph would be a little less than that. I've never dragged my max, but I'm sure some others who have on the board can say about when they hit 100. probably around 12 seconds or so.

Maybe Boosted, but stock running 12s to 100mph?? Umhhhhh only when I dream. I would go with what dental stud mentioned ~ 18 to 20 sec.

HA! 0-100 in 12 seconds! stock? even with every bolt-on you still couldn't do 0-100 in 12 seconds. even if you had a 5th gen w/every bolt on you still couldn't do it. i agree with dental stud... high teens.

The Magazine time I've always remembered was 0-100 in 19.1 seconds for the stock 96 5spd. Of course that's a Mag time. I could get to about 94mph in 14.8 seconds stock, so probably 16-17 seconds to 100.
Now, modded on slicks thats another story... I can hit 100 in 14 seconds flat now

I stopwatched my aoto 99 on the highway a few times, i would pass 60 at around 8 secs and the speedo hit 100 around 24 seconds. I know people will say this is not accurate but its real close. I was ALWAYS within 1/2 a second. My old car seemed to be one of the slower factory freaks but it still whooped up on many a Honduh. I was much more consistant in the auto than the 6 speed. Its a fine line now between smoke and bog now. Before..brake-torque to 1500 in 1st, letoff and mash go pedal. Move lever to 2nd at 6200 and it shifted at 6600, put in 3rd and let it do the rest. Its more fun now but that 2-3 shift with the cable shifter takes practice.

on average no more than 17 seconds. You have people running mid to low 15's on the quarter mile and their trap speed is like 90's. With the increase in speed and strength of maxima engine i've tested and can say it can easily run that last 10 mph in less than 2 seconds

Sorry, it can't. It takes at least 3 seconds to run from 90 to 100. Not trying to be ****, but it's true. We're talking a totally stock car here. What people are forgetting is that the faster you're going, the slower your acceleration is, DRAMATICALLY at high speeds. To illustrate, I'll use Motor Trend's times from their original article (where the Max won Import Car of the Year). They list times at every 10 mph interval from 30 to 90. I'll just do the math and give you the time for each interval. 30-40: 1.2 seconds. 40-50: 1.5 seconds. 50-60: 1.5 seconds. 60-70: 2.4 seconds. 70-80: 2.4 seconds. 80-90: 3.0 seconds. If the trend continues (which it DOES, as anyone who has tried to go 120-130 in a Max can attest), then it would take AT LEAST 3 seconds to go 90-100. An automatic is worse: the same intervals are: 1.3, 1.5, 1.9, 1.8, 2.8, 3.4, ????
Unless you have a freaky powerful stock Max or you're not on level ground, you're not going 0-100 in under high 17's, best case scenario. In an automatic, you're not breaking 19. I may be what, but I'm a smart what on this issue.
