grinding in reverse

last night when i was backing out of a spot and i turned the stering wheel i heard a realy lowd grinding noise from the front of the car and i felt a slight vibration in the stering wheel as well. But i only get this when im backing up the car and i turn it. It also happens at setain speeds when i make a right run usualy when im in second.
the weather has been bad so i havent had a chance to look at the front of the car but is it the cv joints or what?

Sounds a little like a cv joint to me.

Make sure your brake calipers are bolted in place. I've had this happen before on my old camry, I went in reverse and the caliper would literally dig itself into the rim. Ouch! There was grinding and vibration. It only did it in reverse cause when in forwards the caliper would seat itself with the rotor.

Same happened on my '84 subaru. Sounds very similiar to what you report.

Hopefully it's something as trivial as this.
