yet another home depot grill question

k, before everyone reams me out on goin to the search section, I have a simple question. How do I remove the front stock grill on a 97 to trace it out on cardboard, before cutting the mesh? I see there are clips on both ends, I tried pushing down and wiggle the grill off...but no luck I found in the search section that the 96 grill comes off with a few screws, but like everything else, you find more info that you dont need than what you do
P.S. I am still searching for a Trenz Billet grill without the bar goin down the middle, check out the FS/WTB section. Thanks in advance for everybodys help

I assume the grille on a 97 isn't too different from my 95s. There are actually 3 clips and two snap in fasteners. If you look at the top of the grille you should see a plastic fastener on each far end of the grille - remove those w/ a small screwdriver. Now there are just 3 clips left. There is one on each end and one in the center behind the Nissan logo. To remove those, look through the front of the grille and you should see that the clips have a slotted (flathead) head. Insert a screwdriver through the grille and turn the clip about 45 degrees one way or the other - slightly pull out on the grille directly in front of these clips as you do it so they release. Once you've gotten it removed you should understand how to put it back in. Good luck.
