Oxygen sensors

Are all three O2sensors the same size and part numbers? I need to replace all three of mine and I'm gonna go with the universal ones.

yes the rear helps control the air/fuel mix.. so I would change it as well

Rear Sensor for Monitoring Purposes Only

I thought I read this earlier...Here's the excerpt from a Daniel Martin post.....

...Most 4Gen Maximas have three Oxygen Sensors. There are two "front" Oxygen Sensors, one mounted in each branch of the Y-pipe. There is one "rear" sensor mounted just downstream of the Catalytic Converter. The Engine Control Unit (the computer) uses the signals from the two front sensors to control the fuel mixture. When the front sensors are operating normally the rear sensor is used only to monitor the performance of the Catalytic Converter.

yes your correct.. under normal conditioins the rear O2 sensor is not used for engine control operation.. I guess I should have been more specific.. but if it's broke, why not fix it..

the voluntary servive campaign #p8132 & p8152 is for 96 maxima only.vehicle reg in the following state:CA(fed emission only),Nevada,Arizona,New Mexico,Texas,Oklahoma,Louisiana,Florida,Georgia,No rth and South Carolina,Mississippi, and Alabama. Not all 96 are qualify, approximately 150,000 car were affected. So if your car is 96 you can call nissan and ask if you are qualify or not.i think the CEL has to be on,because on the campaign it said 96 max malfunction indicator light (MIL) issues.
