I had an ACT clutch installed last year, which was really nice to just have that grap and go...but because I've never driven a car with a performance clutch I didn't know the problem I was having until another friend got the same thing...and it was like night and day.

This is the problem I'm having and I'm wondering what it is...any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...When you put in the clutch you know how you have like an area where you have like the catch and it is kinda hard to press and once you get past that point the clutch goes to the floor easily. Well, my clutch doesn't have an easy point...doesn't have basically get past the friction point. I mean when I push it all the way in the clutch will disengage the gear so I can shift...but it kinda feels like I'm driving without a clutch especially when getting it into first...but all the gear pull and I don't feel any slipping. And second thing ever since the clutch was put in I can never shift in to first while moving...I get a sick ol' grind so I never do that. And I can't remember is I was ever able to shift into first...or if there might be something wrong with the clutch.

My idea is that possibly the OEM flywheel I got may have been warped possibly therefore having I'm having a hard time getting it into gears...and the other reason I think that is because after the installation I was have starter problems...getting the grind...so I'm thinking it might be the fly wheel...any ideas??? Could it be the clutch??? Any input would help a lot!!

Thanks, and sorry so long,
John

A flywheel defect is likely to produce the symptom of chattering. I believe the clutch is bad. More specifically, the pressure plate is bad.
