I was driving down a long street in pleasanton (in the bay area). I pull up beside a brand new mustang Gt... im talkin on my cell phone not payin much attention to him but i make sure i stay ahead of him. After speeding up and slowing back down for awhile he gets a little irritated... he pulls up beside me and looks over and then i hear the WOT of his v8. So i tell the person on the phone to hold up and i wot my 95 stock gxe and keep him right about at my tail then i hit 4th and get about a car on him befor i have to slam the breaks for a red light, after i while he pulled up beside of me again, this time he rolled down his window and asked me what i had in my car,,, i told him it was all stock...his friend laughed, he looked emberassed.

It was probably a 94-98 auto GT. Which are not near as fast as the new ones. A max can usually take those but the newer ones are usually gonna win unless your modded and he is stock. Good kill anyhow.

 

There's no way a stock GXE can beat a new Mustang GT. Odds are it was a older automatic GT which are fair game for Maximas. Don't you love the look on a Mustang owner's face when they get their a$$ handed to them by a family sedan?

Either bad driver( 5spd) or he was playing with you. I believe only the stock 2k2 6 spds can hang with those. ( stock for stock)

hmmm. i don't even know if 2k2's can hang with them. those stang gt's are quick as he!!. my buddy just got a 2k2 or 2k3 stang one. it is so fast. he is already doing mods!

 

Yeah Ive talked to guys with 2k2 maximas who have gottan owned by 2k2 mustang GT's(stock vs stock)(manual tranny in both)...Anyways, those things are hella fast

everyone is saying that, because there is no way that a stock 4th gen max will beat a new gt. it just won't happen, unless the guy f'ed up shifting or something like that. the 4th gen's don't stand a chance stock. we are all just pessimists.

 

Its good to have maximas beat mustangs no matter if the guy is a bad driver or it is auto. At least he was impressed by a maxima.

 

I still think it was a pre 99 GT. Those we can hang with stock. But after 99 they are up to 260 hp and about 300 ft/lbs of torque.

 

A$$ handed to him? Yes a stock 4th gen will, but a 2k2 will give them a run for their money. I have seen a stock 2k2 max run 14.5. New GT's run a few tenths faster. It is a drivers race. Any little thing could give the max the advantage.
It's probably just what you consider having your "a$$ handed" to you means.

NO way you beat a mustang gt. **** before my mods, I couldn't beat my friends auto 2k mustang v6 (he had intake and dual exhaust). I bet you raced a v6. You'd get seriously walked by a new gt. SERIOUSLY.

I easily beat my friends auto 2000 Mustang GT Auto convertible when I was stock in my 97 SE Auto. I've god mods mods mods so I can probably whip em silly now. If I remember correctly I pulled on him after 30-40 mph.
