It depends on the size. In 17"x8", Racing Hart CP-035s. But in 17"x7.5" SSR Competitions are just as light as the CP-035s. If you want drag wheels, Racing Hart CP-035s in 15"x6" weight 7.9 lbs.

There are tons of lightweight wheels out there that will fit the maxima. Hundreds. Literally.

Z32 rims

Did I mention $$$$

$200 on Ebay or off street, you can buy 10 yr old 300ZX rims.

or U can get extremely light 5 lb titanium type rims for $1000-4000.

i wonder if traction is reduced if you have rims that are 7.9lbs. Its got to be really easy to spin the wheels.

I guess if the racing harts aren't too expensive i'll get those, but if they are i might go cheap and get the 300zx rims that weigh 13lbs.

Does any one know the website for ADR wheels, aka Advanti wheels? I am interested in the M-classics in 18*8 size. But I have been unable to find any factual info on these wheels like weight, offset, ect. I have check all the aftermarket wheel websites too and still no luck so I thought I would ask if anyone knew if there was an official ADR website? I am thinking of putting 225*40*18 tires at the least or possibly 245*40*18 if they will fit without rubbing! THanx for the info

There are tons of Racing Hart dealers, and any one of them can get you the CP-035s. I got them from www.wheelmax.com . My 17"s with tires ran $2300 shipped. Yes I bargained. Other places sell them cheaper now too, try searching Yahoo.

And geo1317, I'm pretty sure they're for use with slicks.

does anyone know the weight of the 2000 17 se rims
If you have rims that are too light , can they bend a lot easier?
thanks

2000 17" se rims weigh 22 lbs
If rims are manufactured using cast aluminum, it would take a HUGE impact before they bend. At that point, you will be more worried about damages other than wheels

Not if they're forged.

I have used the fittipaldi Flame's at 12.9lbs for 16"ers. It was very hard to get traction with them cause i have smaller diamiter tires with lightwheight wheels it was fun. Brian

What about the 7.9lb 15"ers with slicks? I could probably get traction with an auto anyways. right?

Honestly I don't know... that's really, really light. I don't think anyone has that light of wheels to give your real advise. Yeah try calling Wheelmax, but if they can't get them then just search around the net. Most places that sell them don't advertise prices online, but can nonetheless get them.

Where did you get this number?

Not trying to flame, just wondering

I love the 5th gen 17s even though everyone has them on 4th gens, but I read that they weigh 25 lbs each.

22 lbs isn't too bad actually.. hmm.. if it really is 22..

Youre probably right. I've weighed them with stock Potenza's and they were almost 48 lbs!!!

This notion of "light wheels make for less traction" is rediculous. A wheel that weighs for instance 8lbs rather than 20lbs will only put about 10hp more to the ground. If you can't handle an extra 10WHP you shouldn't be racing at all, and you should take all the mods off your car because "they will make you have less traction."

Incase you didn't catch my drift, wheels have nothing to do with how much traction you have. Tires do.

Are you sure it will only put 10hp on the road? I think my 68lb wheel/tire combo is hurting me more than that. I am a good .4 slower 0-62.

I quoted 10hp as an approximation for changing from a 20 to an 8lb wheel. I said nothing about boat anchors and 68lb wheel and tire combos. If you go from a 68lb combo to say a 30lb combo I could see you taking .6 off easily. 68lbs is retarded, I didnt know they made wheels and tires that heavy under 20"

Those 5th gens are quite heavy. I worked on a 5th gen this past weekend and after removing one of his wheels I was like WTF these 5th gen stock 17s are pretty heavy.

Its my tire really. They are yokahoma decible 235/40/18. When the ups package came it said 4 items 68lbs a piece. I also weighed them myself and that was right on target. Why are my tires so heavy?
