Does our timing chain mean that adjustable cam sprockets are impossible?
Well, since cams have finally been released for the 4th gen, it begs this question. Does our car's timing chain make it impossible to adjust cam timing for fine tuning? Obviously adjustable sprockets would be needed, which aren't currently available to my knowledge. I've never heard anyone talking about adjusting our cam timing, even theoretically, so I've started to wonder.
Anyone else itching to get a set of these, the upgraded springs and retainers, and a custom ECU with a nice 7500rpm redline? And to think I have just enough credit to do it...

I see a couple of problems with doing adjustable cam gears on our cars.
First, they are very hard to get to, given the size of the cover and the complexity of removing it.
Second, the nature of the two stage drive would make the gears themselves pretty complex. The crank turns a chain that is attached only to the two intake cams. The intake cams then have smaller chains attached to them that turn the exhaust cams.
Neither of these makes adjustable gears impossible...just difficult.
