Will a 97-99 Steering wheel fit my car?

2nd post today. Not much work getting done here..

Anyway, I have a 96 SE w/ tan leather and a crappy looking brown steering wheel.

Will the later model steering wheels fit my car. Is it much of a hastle (Airbag, cruise wiring etc.). I was hoping to go with a black leather wheel from a 97-99.

Thanks again.

The airbag computer in your car may not be able to recognize and/or operate the newer style airbag in the newer wheel...

the wheel will fit, and i don't think the computer has any problems recognizing the new equipment. but the big thing is you have to get a whole new setup for the airbag, which means big $$$. many people around here have done this before. search around and you'll find lots of info on this.

i wish it were easier, i'd love to get rid of my square-looking wheel as well. it's the most hideous part of the 95-95 cars.

Yes But you do need to change everything, including airbag. Read and enjoy the link below;

95/96 Maxima Steering Wheel to Badass 97-99 Black SE Wheel

you know, i figured there might be a way to do that, but i was too lazy to look around. i guess it's that big green link that says 'edit/delete message,' the one that's right in front of me.

thanks for the tip!

(check it out, i even figured out how to edit this post! hehehehe...)
