opinion on starter noise

i startin getting a grinding noise just after my car starts. i searched and game up that its the starter. it only did it bout 3 times so far on mornings where it was right round freezing out. i read that you can take it off and apart and lube whatever up, but im goin to college full time and workin bout 20-25 hours a week and dont have much time. i have a warranty that should cover its replacement. should i just leave it go and fix it under my warranty or find the time to try and tear it apart? if i just leave it go how long should i expect to get out of it. any replies would help cuz i really didnt find what i was lookin for in searchin. thanks

It's not really hurting anything if you leave it. You have a warranty, USE IT!

www.motorvate.ca has the write up on how to lube it up.

If it's still under warranty..take it to get replaced.

The do it yourself lube job thing isn't that hard but it will take a few hours (not including taking the actual starter apart).
Taking the stock intake out and goin through all the hoses and wires to get to the starter is a pain.

Why go through the trouble if the dealer will do it for free.
