y-pipe plus exhaust equals LOUD AS HELL

just put a warpspeed 195 dollar y-pipe on my 97 max which i've had for less than a week and now the car sounds like a V8 Mustang! It roars at low rpm's and i havn'e fully tested it past 3.5 but dam the sound is beautiful, definitely intimidating. Not sure what muffler, i think a custom but i'm pleased with performance and most of all, sound

Cool! Happy to hear that you like it. What type of material does warpspeed use for the y-pipe? Did you just get it off their website? Do you think that y-pipe is better than the budget?
Thanks and good luck,
Dan

the y-pipe is made of aluminum and has a 5 year rust free warranty. Cost me 215 shipped and i bought it for my old car and it got totaled so i took it off and put it on my new max.

It costed me 60 dollars to get installed and i had it done at some shop off of terril road in plainfield i believe? its off of route 22 in New jersey near springfield

I didn't see a post about your new max. You may have put it up but I didn't see it. Give details on the new max, color, cost, mileage. I want to get the warpspeed Y pipe. How long did it take to get to you? Is it too loud???

i been had this y-pipe on my old max, the one pictured in my sig right now. (95 GLE), and it came to me like 4 days after paypalling money only because they had one ready to ship out.

i bought 190 hpkilla's car, 97 rosewood FULLY LOADED black interior with many mods and 125,000 miles roughly. GREAT LOOKING car and well worth the amount i paid.

the combination is kind of loud but its a purr loud, its a hmm...dam its loud, like you can hear it a little over medium music play...i like it but i'm setting alarms off by mistake

That's what I thought about my duals until I revved next to a V8 modded mustang....made me sound like a damn lawn mower. What we are to Civics is what V8 mustangs are to us.

Weeelllllll.....in saying decibels I was referring to raw noise. In tone I was referring to exhaust note/sound/depth,ect. For instance, a Maxima with a flowmasters exhaust setup will sound dirty, low pitched, mean and fairly girgly at idle and low RPMs. A Cobra with an offroad X or H pipe will emit an amazing hollow/deep thunder with an exotic tone to it.

Thanks for attending Craig Mack's Exhaust Tones 101.

Try the Stillen or GReddy mufflers. My Stillen is SO LOUD. I haven't heard many cars louder than mine. I'm actually buying a stock muffler to put back on because it's too much for me right now (especially with the bees-in-a-can from my Y-pipe), and the fact I'm 25 and don't need it to be THAT loud.
