now my tuning background is with hondas so this Mod confuses me. The VI has dual stage intake runners ? correct. One set for low rpms and one for high rpms (like a VTEC intake manifold) my ? is in the honda world we replace our stock intake manifolds for larger more simpiliar ones that elininate the dual stage effect thus allowing max air flow all the time. it causes a slight hesistation before vtec but opens up alot of top end power. with ecu tuning the hesitation goes away because the ecu isnt looking for the second set of runners.

how would adding a 2 stage intake to a car without a vtec or vvti valve train increase power. it seems that the second intake runner would restrict airflow unless the whole setup is programed like that from the factory.
