Stalling

On cold days , when I start the Max it starts then stalls. Does anyone know what this problem could be ? This is getting quite frustrating.

PS. Has anyone heard about a recall on the Alternator for 97-99 Max's?

Everyone has heard about the recalls on the alternators...

Well, when i'm really low on fuel, my car stalls when starting. It happened to me twice, and both i was hella low on fuel. I'm guessing it has to be ure fuel filter somehow... get that checked.

Has your car had a tune up? How many miles are on it?

I've got 74,000 on it , it stalls with a full tank gas as well.If i tap the pedal a little (which I don't like to do) it stays on.

I didn't hear about the Alternator recall until last week until a friend of mine got a notice about it.....I didn't get one.

1) get the recall at your local dealer, don't be left in the darkness like me, literally!
2) Last winter, Before my alternator was recalled, on cold days, it'd hesitate on start up, it'd fire right up, but drop low rpm after. I started using high test 93 and it fired up better in the cold. Much better. This winter - new alternator now.

could have something to do with your fuel lines or just something in the fuel system.. starving the engine.

I had this problem before on my old car, i just started to give it a little bit of gas to let it stay on.. like 200 rpms more, enough to keep it running, not enough to do any damage..

I'm going to call the dealer about the alternator replacement, in fact during the summer with running the AC and lights, the electronics started dimming on the way home one night.

I'm also going to change the fuel filter once I get a chance to.

diods in the alternator - bad from factory. only cars made from feb 97 to Mar(?) 98, something like that. And of those, only about 1/3 or 1/4 are recalled - that egauls aboutttt..........
"one MILLION Nissans." j/K.
