power window failure!!!

sup my fellow maximers...
i have a problem.
owner of a 98 SE and my passenger side power windows isnt working?!

window doesnt go up or down electronically...i can hear the motor running when i flip the switch...but no movements?

window just slides and falls down about half way...i have to hold the window from both sides and slide it up just for it to stay closed but it still slides down eventually...ay yah...can somebody help?

i took the window panel apart which was a lil tricky...and everything seems to be in place...i found a screw that had fallin out from somewhere but i dont know where?! how do i get around the metal panels after i removed the door panel to get to the motor to get a better view and hands-on space on it? i think the screw that had fallen out has something to with it...no? ive read some threads about a "regulator" needing to be replaced but i have no idea what that is? can somebody help...im flat broke and dont have the money to take it to a dealer...i dont think its the motor b/c i can hear it still working on that side...so i think its the pulley or something? i dunno...the motor jsut doesnt seem to react with the pulleys and cables that i see connected to the window...help!

ur help and info would be much appreciated...

You need a new window regulator assembly. They are about $60 from courtesy nissan.

Re: power window failure!!!

i agree with the moderator...you definetly need a new regulator. one from a local dealer cost me ~$75 and wasn't that hard to put in once you get everything off the door. it's all very self-apparent once you see it.

if you're really having a hard time getting the door panel off, buy a Hayne's manual or do some more searching around.

good luck.
