96 SE with 109,900 Miles, Motor Oil formulated for high mileage engines?
SubscribeHello All:
I own a '96 SE/5-Spd with 109,900 miles and have had it since mile 0. I change the oil every 3,000 miles and perform the other normal maintenance routines. There has been no other major mechanical breakdown other than the starter I replaced at about 75K miles (knock on wood). It's a great car and still hauls a#$%! on the highway. Now my question is this? Has anyone used those specially formulated motor oils for cars with high mileage, i.e. > 75K? I looked at Penzoil's product and it says it contains additives for sealing seals and maintaining enhanced engine performance, blah, blah, blah...
Just soliciting some opinions.

Marketing BS. 109K is not high mileage for a well maintained VQ. If you stay using conventional oil, what you've been using will continue to work fine.Originally posted by y22biker

75k might be high mileage for a Ford or Cheby, but not a Nissan.Originally posted by y22biker
