Do I need Struts - or something else

I have a '99 SE auto with 40K. I have had the car since new and
never skimp on taking care of this car.

The car is starting to develop a small vibration in the front suspension under conditions where the front suspension is loaded.
Only happens over 60mph but I know the wheels are in balance.

Do I need new struts, if so, what kind of aftermarket struts do you
recomend for stock ride hieght.

BTW - Great board

Try checking out the bushings, Maybe there bad and KYB-AGX are the best and just get H&R springs, The car will only be dropped about an inch nothing to worry about.

What do you mean by "loaded"?

Does this vibration only occur when you hit the brakes?

You may consider going back to your tire place and have them check the balance again. Don't be suprised if there off by 1/4 ounce still.

Thanks to everyone for the responses.

It does not happen under braking so I don't think that it is a rotor issue. I think that is what you were getting at.

I had the wheels balanced a few times at my friend's shop after buying the tires. I thought it was the classic out of balance issue but I can't seem to "drive through it" by increasing speed.

By loading, I mean that the front corners are bearing more force due to cornering. Am I making sense?

This is not a dramatic problem but it is driving me crazy!

I'm thinking you've got a defective tire. Could have a bad belt or tread that squirms under a load. Rotate your tires and see if the problem goes away.
