I've had just about every Zenon Super White bulb they make on my car. They are $hit. You can't see in the rain and they don't light up dark black (new) black top. I upgraded to HID's. Great lighting system but there a bit to much for oncomming drivers. (To birght) Now I'm using Sylvania Extravisions and man they cast some great light on the road. I can see once again!

i don't recommend these, the wattage is extremely high and will probably melt your wire harness.

try plasmalights.com bought a set of xenon for like 20.00 plus shipement with a 10yr warranty!!! Try it nothing to lose if they go out of biz u only lost 20!! I have had tons of xenon plasma white bulbs on my 3rd gen and all have only lasted a short amount of time!!@! And yes i have done all of the appropriate installation precautions, but these ones I bought from plasmalights have been doing good have had them in for about 4 months, the others only lasted like 3 months!!!

whew! i noticed you said "recommend"...i was gonna flame you.
Yes, I've had these bulbs and they haven't burnt my harness or housing yet. Get them. They're really bright and white (no hint of blue). For the price, you can't go wrong. Or you can wait 2 weeks when I get my HID and sell my mtec bulbs.

Well the situation is this the normal headlights that come with the max's are like 55w low/ 65 high I think not much wattage. Also, the orginal wire harnesses gauge or thickness of wire is pretty small. If you have some form a wiring concepts it is this the more wattage or amperage draw, more current will be traveling through the medium which are the wire harness. Since the wire gauge is already small it is like asking a space heater rated at a 95 amp draw to recieve it's current from a extension cord only rated at like 45!!!! Major melt down!!! Same concept with the xenon bulbs in the factory harness you will eventually need to splice a larger gauge wire to accompodate for the increase in amperage draw!!! Some xenon's call for a 85 watt amperage draw for low beams and maybe 100 watt amperage draw for highs!! Let me know if this helps???

Sorry guys.....

Xenon is a gas, as well as halogen. Xenon burns way hotter than halogen. Xenon charged bulbs are only found in HID's. All others are Halogen gas charged, even if they say "Xenon" on the package. Just like Plasma bulbs arent really Plasma charged, not chemically anyway. The only way to have Xenon charged headlights on an American Max is to do a HID conversion, and it would cost way more than 20 dollars. I think the cheapest conversion is $280. Sorry, but I work with a Xenon lamp and Halogen lamp on a daily basis, and had to call you guys on it

It may have the 'color' of a 4000K(Kelvin scale) but it doesn't burn that hot(4000k) like a HID actually would.
