I think some guys are giving our maximas a little too much credit in terms of how fast they are. I am very happy with my car, but unless you really want to go all out performance wise and blow about $7k on your max, you couldn't possibly compare it to an M3 or an S4. My advice would be to keep your money and save it for a real sports car if thats what you want. If you are still desperate to prove something to them I'd get the VB mod and an NX kit, if you're spraying a 100 shot and use drag slicks to get enough traction then yes, you could win.

But the reason a S4 is real fast is because it has a turbocharger. If it didn't it would probably be just the same as the maxima. The advantage it would have would be that it's all wheel drive.
Now if they are going to make the S4 a V8 engine then the maxima and the S4 are in COMPLETELY different leagues. M3 is a tough car I agree. It would take a lot to beat one.

Ok, either way. I'll I'm saying is that you guys pull down the power of the maxima when compared to other V6 cars that aren't sports cars it is top of the line. Lots of the owners here think that the maxima is slow, but in my opinion it is quite fast. I know it isn't as fast as an S4 or an M3 but it still is fast. And the new 2003 maximas have the same power as an S4 without turbo. That's impressive to me.

I don't think anyone's saying the Maxima is slow; it is very quick for a mid-price family sedan. It's just that when people start comparing it to 2 and 4 door sports cars, that are designed to be fast and cost almost twice as much, it doesn't look quite so quick.
