Need info from those who lowered cars with prokit or H&R
I've been searching for a while and i've come to the conclusion that the eibach pro kit or H&R sports are what I'm looking for. So which do you recommend? I'm looking to lose a little bit of wheel gap, not slaming it. I want to maintain a comfortable ride, not harsh.
Can you still use ur stock shocks with either one of these or do I have to get shocks?
Do I need a camber kit if I were to lower it +/- 1.5 inches?
Would peepz who have either one of these setups get back to me with a pic of their car and their experiences/recommendations and let me know what combination ur using...
Thanks.

You don't need a camber kit for either Pro-Kit or H&R springs.
Some people had no problems riding on their stock shocks. My stock shocks lasted about a month. I have Koni adjustable Sports on all corners now.

Yes, you could use your stock shocks, but they'll wear out faster. I have H&R's and I just went the extra mile and put on the KYB AGX's. Might as well.
As for camber plates.....no, but I would highly recommend getting a front strut tower brace FSTB. Makes a WORLD of difference!
I had H&R's on my 97 for over 40K miles with the stock struts/shocks and it worked great for me. It's a good way to go to save money and keep a near factory ride with better appearance. This time, however, on my 99 I'm changing to KYB's when I put my H&R's on.
If you have under 60K miles on your shocks and want to save some cash you can use factory.
If you can afford the cash for the shocks or have high mileage I would undergo the painful process of dis and reassembly only once.

I'll assume your I30 is an Auto. The H&R's will drop your car very nicely. They make the car look like it should have from the factory, not slammed. Do not reuse your OEM struts and shocks. Spend the extra cash and do the job right the first time. The car will ride much better in the long run. You don't need to go for the AGX's you'll do just fine with a set of H&R springs and KYB GR2 Struts and shocks. You'll get a super ride with added looks and handling. I believe thats what your after.
Where abouts in PA are you located? I'm in NJ and for 100 I'll do the install for you. But you'll have to make a small road trip.

so H&R it is....
hehe, thanks for the offer to install, but i have done suspension swaps before just not on a maxima. I had a civic with full suspension setup and it handled like a wet dream but it got stolen so i moved on to an I30. No offence to you maxima lovers out there but stock maximas/I30 handle like crap!! Actually kinda scary at sharp/high speed turns but hopefully a new suspension setup will cure that
Thanks for the feedback.. I think i'll go with just the H&R alone and see how it rides. If bad, then I'll get the KYB AGXs.
How much would this setup (H&R and AGX)run for??

Never had Eibachs with stock struts
I have the tokico blues. They would not have been my first choice, but I got such a good deal I could not pass it up. (Illuminas just came out for our cars like last week.)
Most people will recoomend KYB/AGX.
The clear corners I did my self, same process as Red/Clear tails.
It's just something for the mean time till I can lay down the money for some Cefiro one piece.

Here's a pic of H&R/Blue Tokicos on a set of 17" with a heavy system in the trunk.

Philly,
My springs I got from the Tire Rack for $215. You can get them cheaper.
I know right now on the Group Deals section of the org, they are holding a special on the KYB's. I don't remember the price. Check it out.
As for the handling. It's nice, and still comfy. If you want more aggressive, I heard that the Koni shocks are a lil harsh.
I'm Happy w/ Mine
Also! Don't forget to get the Front Strut Tower Bar! It's a MUST.

I have a 96 I30, and I put maxspeed springs on my stock struts well that lasted about a week and a half(Blown out), then I put the KYB-gr-2's and what a difference. The springs lowered my I30 about 1.5" nicely, I have the Enkei V1 18" on 40 series sumitomo's and the gap before hand was worse than a trick on heroin. I really need to get a pic up in here, anyway southwest Philly is where my I30 lies, by the way anyone have any install experience with the heated seats from leatherseats.com, I'm lookin for some advice as I am attempting this feat, this weekend...the wiring part would be helpful...
