60K Mile Car ISSUES... idle, car feels sluggish, and slow startup...

Well my alternator has been replaced recently, my oil gets changed every 2-3000 miles and the plugs were changed at 40k, along with the tranny.

For the past few weeks the car has been throwing oil pressure sensors, somewhat overheating (not the car, but the gauge) and it has felt sluggish. The car doesn't start right up like it used to and it seems to be very sluggish at idle... especially when cold (burbles and sputters).

Could this be a knock sensor, or compression issue??? The car is going to nissan in a few days when my new ABS sensor gets here to have those 2 checked, but any ideas.. ??

When my knock sensor had issues it was not like the ones yoru describing other than sluggish, but maybe check the ECU for them anyhow If the knock sensor is bad it could be throwing other things off as well.

The ECU isn't throwing any codes as of now.. what else would the knock sensor throw that would cause these issues?

The Knock Sensor doesnt throw a code when something is wrong, cause its a "ghost code". Im pretty sre that if you check your ECU, you might just get a code, nut you might not, no hurting in checking.

Ive been having similar problems, but to a more severe case. I have athread going on trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with my car. I got 2 codes, knock sensor and ignition signal circuit. Didnt get a check engine light though. Anyways, Ive changed my spark plugs, checked coil packs, changed air filter, and just put in fuel filter. If I were you, change your fuel filter, when was the last time you changed it? Could be about that time. What kind of gas do you use? This all makes a difference =/

fuel filter changed around 50k i believe and i've run premium fuel 92-93 octane since 24k when i got the car.

so i should just do the ECU code thing with a screwdriver and see if anything pops up??

Jason I have those exact same problems, and the car goes to the dealer tomorrow to get them checked out. BTW if you listen closely the whine can be from the passenger's side of your engine bay, which would be a belt squealing. I'll let you know what they are when I get home (~5:00 PM). I'm thinking knock sensor but it's not throwing any codes.

you think thats bad, im over 100k and on a cold moring my remote start wont even get my car to kick on, it just stalls out

oh and Jay a knock sensor wont cause your car to do what its doing. Trust me, when i had mine done i noticed better acceleration and a lil smoother idle.
