intake = changing computer?
intake = changing computer?
hey,
i was looking at some sites from guys that said that they had to change the computer mapping for the increase in airflow from a new intake such as CAI or Injen. Just wondering if anyone knew if thats true for all performance intakes,just a few and if so how would i go about changing the computer to accept the increased flow?

Your Mass Air Flow sensor/meter is what tells the ECU how much air is coming into the engine.. so the ECU will change it's mapping over time.
I would reset my ECU and in about 7 days your ECU should have adjusted to the new intake
and Re-mapping a maxima/infintit ECU is not as simple as it sounds
The ECU uses Oxygen sensors and the MAF to adjust the A/F ratio

what kind of car was it on the other site?
try and search the internet for an upgraded 1999 infiniti ECU or being able to truly remap your fuel and air ratio's
good luck
