I belive IanS said he was to busy to persue this so I hope I am not stepping on his toes.

Will these fit a US forth Gen and can anyone get these for us, perhaps directly from Japan *Cough*Cranman*Cough*

I have wanted to improve on the crappy fourth gen lighting but do not want to deal with the problems of aftermarket HID kits that the stock headlight housing was not made for. Like poor beam pattern, blinding other drivers and no high beams. I know someone mentioned a HID kit with high beams woud be available soon but the other problems still remain.

I am guessing that they are H4's but I would be really interested if they weren't.

more than likely these dont exist as 9004 stock HID. If they did exist im sure somebody would have posted up by now.

If they offer a high beam in them it would be cool. I dont like how the aftermarket ones dont offer any sort of high beam.

I think the best thing we can hope for in terms of 4th gen lighting, is to just change the headlight housing itself. The 9004 beam pattern just sucks. I think that's why past 1999, every auto manufactuer has ditched the model...with the exception of Kia and Jeep, I believe. The dispersion of the 9004 goes all over the place (which is what you want in a fog light). H4, 9006, and H1 coupled with projector would yield the best results. Adding HID's to the stock 4th gen, in my opinion, is not the solution. It just ****es off the oncoming traffic as the intensity is scattered all over. Projectors tend to have one intense focal point (you don't want to look at the light from that point).

The only issue I have the projector lenses though is the aftermarket nature of the design. Every aftermarket kit just looks too "ricey." I want a headlight housing that just looks clean...luxurious would be nice too. The Cefiro lights are just right in my opinion, however, they don't fit perfectly in the Maxima, are kinda pricey, and hard to find. Custommaxima.com should have the finished projector headlight housings once the Pacific port lock out is over.

*nods agreement*

I'm waiting for a decent headlight conversion (or instructions for one, as I don't have time to research one myself) for the gen4 so we can get rid of the 9004's.

Repeat, I want to get RID of the 9004's and go with a separate high/low beam. At the moment I'm waiting on Custommaxima.com 's setup and its results...

it's very hard to find a 9004 with low/high-beam hids. almost all of them are H4. you guys should try SPW but it's only H4.

If you have time and patience do what I did. Mold 97-99 Headlight lens cover and front portion of the housing shell with a 97-00 Toyota Corolla reflector...

The Toyota Headlamps use H4 bulbs and has the ECE-type flare cut-off beam pattern.
