Weight Savings
I have a 96 gxe with the steel rims(real heavy). I am going to be buying aftermarket rims or the 5th generation ones. I figure the weight savings will be substantial. I could actually lose about 60-100 pounds of weight. That should be good for a few tenths atleast.

Ummmm, compared to most rims, the stock steelies (ie. hubcap wheels) do in fact weight less than actual rims. But what weighs them down are the bigger tires (ie. more rubber). At this moment, I am running the stock steelies with a pair of 23 inch diamter slicks, they are VERY light, I think they weight about 1/3 less then my 17 Borbet Type E with new rubber (Toyo Proxes T1-S). I will weight them when I get a chance.
